FROM SMALL LABS TO A PHARMACEUTICAL GIANT

Looking Back
Galenika was founded in 1945, by reconstructing and uniting a group of small pharmaceutical laboratories in Belgrade.The manager of the first Yugoslav drug factory was Veceslav Pavlov. The staff numbered about 46 employees, 3 of them with university degree, 40 workers and 3 clerks.The business of the factory included the manufacture of drugs, raw materials, intermediaries, disinfectants, insceticides and expendable dental material.

Highly-educated Human Resources
Today, Galenika has 2949 employees., 540 hold university degree, 31 are with master’s degree and 36 specialists.



Broad Palette of Products
The main products of the factory are: Human Drugs, Dental Products, Veterinary Products and OTC Products.This company is recognised by the world and was awarded a gold medal at the 53rd World Exhibition of Innovation, Research and Tehnology held on 16-21 November, 2004 in Brussels, Belgium. Dr. Ljubinka Gligic headed the innovation project of “Iron – Enriched Brewer’s Yeast Biomass˝. Over 1000 innovations from 40 countries all over the world were presented at the event.

The company is very successful because of the good strategy, selection of a high-quality range of products and careful analysis.

At the Forefront of the Industry
In this year, in February, a specialist from Germany Company GLATT, handed over to Galenika the design of a new Solid Dosage Forms Plant.The Project went trough the state revision in the Serbian Ministry of Capital Investments. The production will start in the first half of 2006, and the international experts of pharmaceutical industry have called the SDFP project one of the most modern projects of this kind in Europe.
